003: LOVE IS NEVER POSSESSIVE

Jeshua reminds us that love is never about possession. Yet in business, it’s easy to slip into clutching — holding onto clients too tightly, gripping results as if they define us, or clinging to an identity we want others to see.

One of the most subtle ways this shows up is attachment to perception. We want our reputation, visibility, and authority to match the results we’re producing. When engagement dips or an experiment falls flat, the mind panics: “What if people think I’ve lost my edge?” Suddenly, business isn’t devotion — it’s performance.

And here’s the paradox: mastery itself demands experimentation. To grow in your craft, you must constantly be in the lab — testing, failing, refining. Yet fear of failure doesn’t only plague beginners. It follows us all the way up the mountain. Even seasoned leaders can shrink back from risk, afraid of being seen to stumble right when their growth depends on daring more.

But love is never possessive. To love your audience, your clients, and your work is to release the need to control outcomes or appearances. Faith says: when one client leaves, another will come. Trust says: even failed experiments serve the path. And devotion says: my worth is not measured in clicks, likes, or flawless launches.
