SPECIALNESS BLOCKS LOVE

The ego loves to feel special. It craves the sense of being smarter, further ahead, or more impressive than others. But Jeshua warns: love cannot shine through specialness, because specialness is built on separation.

I once carried a nickname in business: The Wizard. A client gave it to me, and I wore it like a badge of honor. It fed my pride in being clever, always knowing, always one step ahead. But here’s the trap — when you build an identity around being special, you also build anxiety. You have to keep proving it. The armor becomes heavy.

Eventually, I let that name die. It still pops up from time to time in certain circles, but I don’t feed the energy. I realized it had served its time, but I had outgrown it. There was no need to perform or prove anymore. Just a call to show up in presence, to share my gifts as they come through, and to trust that if I speak from the heart, it is enough — because He is enough.

And something unexpected happened: I became freer. More comfortable in my own skin. More available to say yes at a moment’s notice, whether for an interview, a coaching call, or a spontaneous conversation. The identity I once clung to had been armor, but when it fell away, a deeper current of service could move through.

Specialness blocks love. Presence allows it to flow. The work is not to shine brighter than others, but to let the light already within shine through, unfiltered.
