030: The True Nature of Our Challenges

This week I've been contemplating the nature of problems and the ways in which we grapple with them in our day-to-day lives and businesses.

Recently, I had the privilege of observing successful entrepreneurs participate in hot seat sessions at a mastermind event.

Something Phil and I found interesting, and also observed in our own willingness to share was how so many attendees would step forward with concerns, often framing them around business or financial dilemmas.

Yet, as I listened and observed, I couldn't help but wonder if these were the real problems or merely symptoms of a more profound, underlying issue.

Take the concept of self-sabotage, for instance. It's a curious phenomenon where one might unconsciously erect barriers or fall ill right before a pivotal event.

It's a pattern I've noticed, not just in others but also within myself. Why do we act against our best interests? Is it merely a stroke of bad luck or a deep-rooted avoidance mechanism?

This line of thinking led me to contemplate the trap of misplaced focus. I vividly recall a recent discussion with an individual in need of a massage table but lacking the funds, ensnared in a cycle of perceived scarcity and inaction. No funds to by the table, and no clients to get the funds!

This served as a illustration of how we often corner ourselves, mistakenly believing that external circumstances are the obstacles when, in reality, the true challenge lies within.

The essence of these reflections is our tendency to shy away from confronting the real issues at hand.

We fabricate superficial problems because they seem manageable, offering a false sense of control and progress. Yet, these are often mere distractions from the core issues that we fear to acknowledge, let alone address.

So, how do we break this cycle?

It begins with asking ourselves the right questions. If you believe your problem is money, launching a new program, or acquiring some new equipment or resource that you feel is necessary to grow your business, consider whether these are the real issues.

Questions like "What do I fear to feel?" or "What am I avoiding?" can lead to profound insights and clarity.

Life's trials often invite us to explore new paths, yet we cling to familiar troubles, mistaking them for the real story.

I've personally witnessed instances where the universe seemed to conspire to present opportunities, yet they were dismissed as inconveniences or obstacles, overshadowing the potential for growth and success.

In one notable case, an entrepreneur friend of mine shared a shift in focus from a struggling online venture to a more aligned and successful physical product. His story beautifully illustrated how sometimes, what seems like a problem can actually be an invitation to something greater.

In conclusion, our journey through life is dotted with perceived problems that, upon closer examination, can reveal deeper truths about our fears and capacities.

By embracing these challenges and questioning their true nature, we can move beyond the superficial and tap into a more authentic and fulfilling path.

Let's not get lost in the maze of problems we create.

Instead, let's seek the roots, face our fears, and open ourselves to the possibilities that life offers.

Only then can we truly evolve and manifest the vision we aspire to achieve.

Reflecting on my own journey, I've come to understand that the path to growth and success is often fraught with challenges that can either paralyze us or push us to evolve.

Whether it's navigating uncomfortable changes, overcoming self-sabotage, or taking what we call the love-led leap here at Sacred Business, it's our perspective and response that determine our journey's trajectory.

In the end, it's not about avoiding problems or seeking a problem-free life.

It's about learning to navigate challenges with grace, wisdom, and resilience, and transforming them into opportunities for profound personal and professional growth.

With Love,

Carolina

What I want to share

Rumi speaks a sacred language that we understand with our hearts rather than our minds. He knows the heart is the gateway to divine union and he doesn’t want you to play small this lifetime. He encourages humanity to live and love with absolute surrender, abandon and willingness to accept the mysteries of life.

At the beginning of each card message in Rumi Oracle you’ll find a short excerpt of a poem by Rumi, translated by Rassouli, who is also the artist of this deck.
